About This Video
Sustainability leaders, passionate locals and families gathered at the base of Aspen Mountain this Saturday, May 5th, for “Climate Impacts Day,” an international event organized by 305.org urging citizens to “connect the dots” between climate change and extreme weather events.
The day featured an art project, live music, a civil on-hill protest to symbolize snow and also featured a snowless ski race to demonstrate what skiing could become someday if we don’t take action to reverse global warning.
The Aspen event was the main Colorado event for 350.org and featured speeches from the likes of Auden Schendler, VP of Sustainability for Aspen Skiing Company; Mick Ireland, the Mayor of Aspen; 11-year-old Xiuhtezcatl Martinez of the Earth Guardians out of Boulder, Colo. and more.
